Rick Gould and Karen England are Volunteers of the Week for Southwest Job Network
"Karen England and Rick Gould, of Gould Intelligent, an I/T staffing, custom software and website development firm, have been key contributors to the launch and continued success of SJN operations in the West Valley! As successful recruiters and business leaders, Karen and Rick are passionate about sharing their knowledge and best practices with job seeking members of SJN. Karen and Rick have contributed on the Curriculum Development Innovation Council, helped people individually and as a group by donating their time to resume reviews, sharing "what works and what doesn't" in the Phoenix market, and by presenting core SJN workshops including New Member Orientation, Manage the Emotions of Career Transition and Develop Your Vision, and Interviewing and Managing Offers."

On November 9th, they will present “Interviewing and Managing Offers” at the West Valley Location. Later in November they will be assisting in conducting Mock Interviews.

Gould Intelligent participates in Southwest Job Network’s (SJN) West Valley Programs
Karen England and Rick Gould are passionate about helping people successfully become employed. They are featured speakers and volunteers with SJN. SJN is 501(c)(3) non-profit organization which provides professionals with access to a powerful Valley-wide professional network, education on the job search process, technology tools and resources, and moral support during difficult times. Founded in 2002 with just 19 members, by 2005 SJN had grown to more than 600 members, through word-of-mouth and the passionate support of devoted volunteers. SJN now serves more than 2,000 members during this difficult time.
In addition to assisting the organization update their training curriculum, they are featured speakers for the West Valley location which is hosted at Glendale Community College. Most recently they presented “Managing the Emotions of Career Transition and Developing Your Vision” and will be assisting at the next meeting with free Resume Reviews.

Stepping Stones of Hope is “dedicated to providing comprehensive support-based programs, continuum of care and education to grieving children, families, adults and communities." Originally founded in 1999 as Camp Paz, this 501 (c)(3) evolved into Stepping Stones of Hope in 2003. WASHINGTON D.C., June 8, 2009 -- Gould Intelligent, LLC has been selected for the 2009 Phoenix Award in the Computer Related Consulting Services category by the U.S. Commerce Association (USCA).
The USCA "Best of Local Business" Award Program recognizes outstanding local businesses throughout the country. Each year, the USCA identifies companies that they believe have achieved exceptional marketing success in their local community and business category. These are local companies that enhance the positive image of small business through service to their customers and community.
Various sources of information were gathered and analyzed to choose the winners in each category. The 2009 USCA Award Program focused on quality, not quantity. Winners are determined based on the information gathered both internally by the USCA and data provided by third parties.

Gould Intelligent volunteers for SJN's Interview Workshop
Karen England and Rick Gould recently volunteered to help SJN (Southwest Job Network) with their Mock Interview Workshop. These workshops are designed to provide mid-career job seekers an opportunity to practice and develop their interviewing skills. Gould Intelligent has been involved with this worthy organization for several years. Karen and Rick are currently working on curriculum committees to update Southwest Job Network’s workshop modules to include information on successfully launching a job search in today’s economy.

Al Walsh of Gould Intelligent participated in an Etiquette Luncheon that was hosted by ASU at their Polytechnic campus. The luncheon was held to educate students in making positive impressions on prospective employers, as well as learning how to conduct themselves in business meetings and interviews at formal meals. Al Walsh participated as a judge in the 2008 Thunderbird Sustainable Innovation Summit. Al rated and commented on eight sustainability proposals.

Gould Intelligent participates in joint West Valley Trade Show
Our office and recruiting team recently attended a West Valley Trade Show sponsored jointly by the various West Valley Chambers of Commerce. It was held on August 28th at the Wigwam Resort in Litchfield Park.
It was well attended and provided exposure to the commercial businesses in the West Valley. Gould Intelligent is well known in the public sector but hasn’t specifically targeted the small to mid-sized commercial market in the past. We are working hard to make sure that all potential customers are aware that Gould Intelligent is available to handle their Information Technology Staffing and Software Development needs.

Gould Intelligent was proud to sponsor Soroptimist International of Estrella for their 2007 Par-Tee Golf Tournament.
All of the tournament profits benefit the community as Soroptimist International of Estrella focuses on improving the lives of women and children.
Soroptimists of Estrella was founded over 17 years ago. The New Life Center serves as a shelter from domestic violence, which was one of their major service projects. They also continue to assist the Boys & Girls Club of Tolleson and of the Tri-City area, the West Valley Habitat for Humanity, and scholarships for seniors graduating from local high schools.
